General info that we have received about prepaid credit cards :

Many gifts cards have SIC code restrictions and cannot be used for example, to purchase alcohol or porn.

The card may have also have an outstanding authorization that is either pending billing (or may not be billed at all). Authorizations typically stay on cards for 10 business days.

These cards often carry hefty per item transaction fees, which can quickly reduce the amount of money on the card, especially if the cardholder is doing lots of small transactions. They won't realize this until they see their statement.

The customer may need to chat with his card issuer & ask some questions.
