Well, we know what happened with the faslse prophet. But, damn, Ihave been ducking n dodging the tornados all this month. Heard that train a'coming four times now . One even jumped my house . who can perv witth the wind howling . and yer ass puckered ? One wiped out a town 40 miles from me last night  .

Ferv, the weather has been strange this year. In Western New York, we got a lot snow this winter and so far a lot of rain and cold weather.

Yes, I have been freaking out ! Everytime the weather radio goes off I head for the safest place. My bathtub with a mattress over my head ,lol Well, so far so good. but 'when you hear the train. shit !'

Turbo you are so right, we have been hit all around us as well, luckily nothing in my area, i was in a tornado when my 1st born was a week old, i never wish to be in another
But I have heard that Mother Nature is a cougar and she is menopausal ....Beware of us that are 45 and older....

People need to be prepared. When a tornado watch is issued it is time to be ready to take shelter if needed. When a warning is issued, take to shelter immediately. No thinking about where shelter might be, no driving around looking for shelter. A warning means get under ground NOW.
People have become too complacent. In some of the fatal tornadoes people have had as much as a 20 minute warning and they still managed to get killed. Most would have lived if they had adequate shelter. Many were killed by driving into the tornadoes. That's Darwin Award behavior.
Everyone must have a plan and a weather alert radio. If in a vehicle, keep the radio on a station broadcasting up to the minute weather info. Don't be listening to your Perry Como CDs.
The National Weather Service working with volunteer SKYWARN storm spotters does it's best to give the public a warning. The SKYWARN volunteers risk their lives to help save lives. But none of that does any good if people are not paying attention.
The typical warn time is five minutes or less. That is not enough time to go looking for shelter. People must be prepared to shelter the moment a warning is issued.

So true. I have a National Weather radio with crystals for the countys to my soutyh and west . as that is the direction most common in my locationplus my tv tuned to a station that utilizes ham radio networks across the state . as you may know these are a first line of defense in giving the latest on damage, and letting tthe public know what the brave first responders are dealing with . And as you so elequently put it-n don't be a Darwin candidate. know when to get to safe locations.

Yup we've had 'em here in FL also although none such as the midwest is getting. Heard the train myself, there's nothing like that sound. I think we've pissed off Mother Nature so much she's showing us just how nasty she can be when she's fed up with all the crap we dish out.
