...............................................................................

Leave our fucking nursery rhymes alone!!... Mad Mad Mad

Got any news stories you want to share with us? put em' here....there's so much weird shit going on, locally, nationwide, worldwide. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I believe Hawaii had a day off school today?...how fucking sad!

Don't put Humpty Dumpty back together again...
October 22, 2009, 10:06 pm A children's literature expert says changes made to the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty are part of a worrying trend in society.

In the United Kingdom, the BBC is under fire for rewriting Humpty Dumpty to give it a happy ending on the CBeebies children's program Something Special.

Instead of the last line saying "couldn't put Humpty together again", the new version claimed all the King's horses and all the King's men "made Humpty happy again".

June Factor, who has spent nearly four decades researching and writing children's books, says such moves to "sanitise" story-telling is very concerning.

"It's a sad sort of ignorance involved. It's completely unnecessary, it's a misjudgement and it's foolishness," she told ABC News Online.

"I am concerned about this misunderstanding and misreading of human development, and in many ways there are quite serious restrictions being placed on children.

"It's a worrying trend because there is, in countries like England and Australia, a strange panic about children.

"The idea is that children should be protected against all risk and in this case they are seeing a psychological risk. On the contrary, it's a psychological strengthening you gain from this material."

Dr Factor, an honorary senior research fellow at the Australian Centre at the University of Melbourne, says unnecessary changes have been made to children's tales for generations.

And she says those who "bowdlerise" children's literature do have good intentions, but they are missing the cultural and historical point of nursery rhymes and fairytales.

"Their intentions are always admirable - the path to hell is paved with good intentions. They are hoping to make sure children aren't frightened but of course they are omitting the purpose," she said.

"[Nursery rhymes] are not there as a cotton ball to protect children from the world. They are a way of exposing children to the world from the safety of someone's lap."

Dr Factor says scary tales are meant to teach children about dangers in the world.

"Fairytales are full of very grim life experiences - dead parents, being left in the woods, there's tricksters and dangers - and what they do for children is a whole number of things," she said.

"It's a way of approaching the world for children in symbolic ways so they do gain some understanding of the world but they don't actuallty have to go out and experience the big bad wolf or whatever.

"They are about courage, resilience, quick-wittedness, patience and they are all about hope."

And WTF is this one about?....this is where we're heading!

An American man who brewed coffee naked in his own kitchen is facing indecent exposure charges and could be jailed.

Eric Williamson, 29, from Virginia, insists he has done nothing wrong and any exposure of his private parts was purely accidental.

Williamson was making coffee in the buff at 5.30am when a woman and her seven-year-old son walked past his kitchen window in Springfield.

The woman then called the police.

Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said the woman claimed Williamson then moved and exposed himself again through a large front window.

In his defence, Williamson said: "I'm by myself. So I come down here - the roommates are gone, and it's my house.

"I never had a conversation with anyone, never saw anyone. Didn't cross my mind, came and got coffee. I mean if I stood and seemed comfortable in my kitchen possibly it's natural. It's my kitchen."

Williamson, who is the father of a five-year-old girl, continued: "I am a loving dad. Any of my friends... and anyone knows that.

"And there is not a chance on this planet that I would ever, ever do anything like that to a kid."

Trial lawyer Dickson Young, who is not connected with the case, explained that "in order for it to be a crime, they have to prove - the state and police - have to prove that he knew those people were there when he was standing there.

"The statute requires an intentional display of your private parts. So if you are occasionally displaying them, accidentally displaying them, inadvertently displaying them it's not a crime."

Ms Jennings said the police would not pursue a case based on inadvertent exposure. The charge is a misdemeanour punishable by up to a year in jail.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Screams filled the evening sky as family members try to cope with what happened Monday in a South Memphis community. Two children, 2-year old Catareon Dunn and 3-year old Ladareon Dunn, were left home alone shortly before a fire broke out.

***ADD YOUR COMMENTS BELOW***

Officials responded to a house fire call at 1236 Effie Road off Mt. Moriah.

The two boys were left unattended while their mother and aunt left the house to go drop off a friend. Sometime after that, 911 received a call from neighbors saying the house was on fire.

Neighbors say they heard screams coming from the house and rushed to the back door to try and rescue the children. However, when they got there, the flames and smoke were too powerful for them to enter.

When the children were finally pulled from the house, onlookers described them as looking like "rag dolls." Both were rushed to the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in critical condition. Ladareon died shortly thereafter. Catareon remains in critical condition.

The childrens aunt, Marilyn Wilson, who left the house with the mother, said she had no regrets about leaving the children home alone, No, I really dont because if they had been there by themselves, I dont know if the boys set the house on fire or somebody threw something in there to set it on fire. I really need to get in there to see if my purse burned up. I had my Food Stamp Card and everything in there.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Memphis Fire Department.

Two Airline pilots flew 150 miles past Minneapolis Minnesota airport with no radio contact. Their excuse was: "they were in a heated discussion and forgot to land".
Bless the Lord that they weren't Yanks.
Phew! Very Happy

that aunt is a crying shame of a aunt. makes no damn sense to be worried bout her damn purse n not the kids. they should lock the aunt up to see if that will change her ways

'Drunkest guy ever' the new web sensation October 22, 2009, 12:16 pm

And he's all yours America...He's been labelled the drunkest guy ever and when you see his attempt to obtain some beer from a convenience store fridge you may well agree.

The man made his first appearance on the web a week ago and video of his apparently drunken efforts are getting clicks at a rapid rate and spreading around the world.

Security footage from the convenience store shows the man make repeated efforts to balance himself before he is finally able to open a fridge door and grasp a carton of beer.

The weight of the beer carton destabilises the seemingly inebriated customer who finds himself firmly rooted to the floor of the store aisle.

The man then makes a number of laboured attempts to right himself and regain his footing while clutching his beloved beer.

The man is finally noticed by fellow customers before he is painstakingly guided out the door.
