Howdy. I'm baaaaaaaack...... 8)
Okay, so I'd like to get this off my chest: If you're gonna try and use the dreaded "socialist" label to frighten people into accepting the shitty status quo (and with American conservatives, the fire-and-brimstone tactic is commonly used), try learning what socialism ACTUALLY IS.
I'm debating face-to-face about healthcare with a guy yesterday, and he keeps dropping the word "socialist" into each sentance. I called bullshit on him, and asked him to define socialism for me. The definition he gave was for FASCISM. I asked him who Leon Trotsky was, what the Bolshevik Revolution was (which was leaning more towards Communism, but hey, I was in the zone. Don't judge me.), or even the CENTURY in which it occured. All I got was a blank stare and some muttering about "liberal propaganda". Friends who were watching the debate between us started calling the guy "Rush" (Limbaugh), and now he's a walking punchline.
If you're gonna argue a point, back your shit up with facts, or at least a vague clue about the subject at hand. Bill O' Reilly can only help you so much.... :wink:

Where in my posts have I said that the uninsured did not want insurance? I sure as hell would like to have it.
Read carefully, Hunk: IT'S NOT THAT MOST OF MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA DOESN'T WANT INSURANCE ; IT'S THAT THEY CANT AFFORD IT.
Again, the "personal responsibility" thing is good and fine (the obesity rate in our country is appalling), but the problem is that the plan is ineffective and even MORE expensive for people who have pre-existing conditions, and parents of children with birth defects, and those with chronic complications from an old injury (and THAT is the 72% that you assumed were happily uninsured, genius).
Privatized insurance is what is trying oh-so-hard to make that quick buck you speak of. At least, that's what MY son's premium is telling me.
Your head is still in the sand, Hunky.....must make it easier to blindly follow such a flawed and ass-backwards plan. Keep taking your vitamins and run on that treadmill, hope it cures your skin problem, your ankle, and your knee.
