Would you do it? I mean, would you meet someone off of the Internet? It could be for any reason under the sun but would you do it?

I'd have to say that the Top 3 reasons that people meet offline are..........#1 SEX, #2 potential boy/girl friend, #3 potential wife/husband. I'm not sure what Mscum's intentions were but the Top 3 most likely was in there somewhere.

I've done it. I've done it a multitude of times. Hell, I even met my first sexual partner offline! (It was not intended for him to be as such but things happen!)

I, personally, rather have the person travel to me. It's better for a woman to play on her home turf than to go to another unfamiliar field. We have to assume, from all the back and forth conversations, that we have a good grasp on the person we are about to meet BUT you can Never be too careful! 

Just a few guidelines that may be useful in determining how ready you are to meet a person offline would be:

1) You have to be able to listen to your gut!! If you don't know what that is, then STOP!! (Gut......the voice in your head or instinct telling you that something is Right or Wrong!)

2) You have a neutral territory that you can meet at. Of course, Public places are always best because someone can be an eyewitness! (Hate to be this way but you never know.)

3) You have someone in your circle of friends that knows about your ongoing online tryst. Once again, you need someone accountable for your whereabouts just in case!

4) You know how to use common sense. If you get to your online interest and something is amiss, take your losses and hit the road!

Now, these are NOT the Holy Grail of "Guidelines for Meeting Someone Offline" but these are a good start!

As far as costs go, that can be determined by what the extent of the visit will be. I noticed that Mscum said she was going to use her own money; that's fine. I've used my own money as well. It's sometimes best to use your own funds (if you have them) so you won't feel obligated or pressured to do More than what you intended during the visit. You catch my drift....*wink*

 If I want to get somewhere, I have to make sure I have a way there and back. Typically the other half is picking up the tab elsewhere. Just know how much money and travel time you are willing to expend whether it's one way or round-trip. ALWAYS budget for round-trip AND different means of transportation just in case!! I had a time where I paid for my way to him and he paid for my way home. It all worked out.


Last, but not least....What will others think about you meeting someone offline? Well, ummm, it's None of their Business so Who Cares!!?!?! The majority of people who are against meeting people from the Internet typically don't even Go onto the Internet! The naysayers will try to deter you by masking their "wishing they had your cajones" as "heartfelt concern for your well-being".

Granted, not all naysayers are wishing they could be bold and daring like you. You'll be able to tell which ones Genuinely care and are Genuinely concerned.

Either way the decision is yours to make and only yours, so..............................
