it's time to face a harsh but necessary fact-everytime you use a track from your personal music collection as the score for your flix or vids, you are (in the most technical sense) breaking copyright law. It's bascially like speeding-everyone does it and few get caught, but those that do tend to pay a heavy price.
if you run your own website, you are taking an even bigger risk. unlike rude, which has a major legal team and is established overseas (where different rules apply), if you receive a DCMA from a major label you can pretty much hang it up-they'll settle with you out of court, but the cost will be catastrophic.
this leaves you with only three options:
-keep doing it...and hope you don't get caught
-do your videos in silence
-start using royalty-free music
i'm now offering a library of tracks that can be used in your productions without worry. at present, i'm offering music in 5 different genres: Rap/Pop, Uptempo/Dance, R&B, Rock and Moody, but this will grow. the library has 30 tracks at present and will have 10 new additions each month. each track is approx. 4minutes long and will be available to you in wav, mp3 and windows media audio.
I have priced them MUCH lower than i do for my mainstream clients because as an adult content producer myself i realize our budgets are considerably lower, but i'm sure in the long run you will find them much more cost effective than a potential lawsuit and the stress that comes from never knowing if your content is safe.
