A new good morning

A new good morning
10:05PM on July 31, 2008

This morning I made a stop to the post office to pick up a package. Before I even pulled into the parking lot, I witnessed a man sprinting across this busy road to get to the post office. Honestly I began to circle the block and come back, because if he was up to anything I did not want to be around. But instead I entered the establishment to retrieve this package. As I opened the door I am acknowledged with his sparkling eyes, and bright smile. He greeted me with an excited “Good morning!!” then turned around into the one-man line that he stood alone in. I look like…why the hell is he so damn happy this early in the morning??? Damn that pussy must have been good as hell last night. I examined him from head to toe to be honest and. I could tell by the weather in his hair that he was maybe in his mid forties, but stood with confidence. He was in his work clothes, from a car dealership that was right across the way. When it was his turn to be service he greeted the middle-aged woman with a hefty good morning, then explained the reason he had not been by to purchase stamps as often because of the new management that doesn’t allow him to take breaks like he used to. He completed the purchase then went on his way. Fortunately I was next in line to get my package. I commented to the teller “boy is he alive e this morning”, she replied, “he is always that way” this only thing I could say was I am jealous. This man, at the crack of dawn, graced me with such awe. How could he be so happy, the day as just started...??? It then left me in deep thought. Us people…”Americans” take the things that we are granted, life, for granted. Later today I had been pulled in 10 different ways with tons of issues at work. More than I thought I could bear. In fact, the moment I had step foot at my occupation, there was an angry customer calling. But I could not let got of the inspiration he had given me. From then on I made a vow to myself to remain happy, through the storm and the rain. So let’s all be ‘senile’ and ‘delirious’ human beings, changing lives, morning …by…morning.
