  2009 New Year's Resolutions
What are your thoughts on making the crazy resolutions? Do you make them? Do you try and stick with them?
Do you eat the traditional foods on New Year's? Tell me what is it that you would like to commit to in the upcoming year?? Here are my thoughts, I hope you will add yours...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I really don't make any resolutions, I use to, then figured out that I never stick to them...I will eat my blackeyed peas and collard greens, that is to be believed more money in your pocket, I'm not sure what the tradition is in your country, r state for that matter, I was chatting with someone from rude this morning, and i don't think he knew what I was talking about when I asked him about eating peas & collards...so maybe that is just something that the 'South" does..So please do let me know what the traditions are of, in the country are state you live in...
I do try and set goals for myself for the year, and I try and complete that, most of the time I do those, this year it is to see how naughty I can be on rude, I am very sexual, and at my age I am not afraid to do are say what I want from a man, I will even let them know if i am interested in them as a sexual partner, I have no time to waste, wink....So that is one of the things I wish to do this year, have lots of "safe' sex.....
How many of you wish to stop a bad habit as smoking, cussing, eating to much, drinking to much?? i don't have any of those habits, thank goodness, I don't smoke, cussing I rarely do, and when i do its not the great balls of fire cuss words, mine are damn mostly, I do drink when i am feeling sexual. only 2 drinks for me, i am a cheap drunk, i never get drunk, for I want to know what i do and what he is doing, and i really want to remember how good he felt, wink, my sin is shopping, this is a disease to me, and lingerie, bras mostly I have a complete spare bedroom for all my sexy silky clothes and shoes and smell good things, so this i am going to try and correct....Please share yours with me

I don't make resolutions on New Years. I only attempt to do so on my Birthday. That's when the real New year start for me personally. And yes, I try to keep them.

I would like to commit to the betterment of my family, my martial arts, my writing and financial discipline.

I don't make resolutions, I set goals. There are a lot of things that I NEED to do for 2009. I've got them all scheduled as to when they need to be achieved and missing those goals will result in bad things happening for me. LOL! |

Funny I do know what you are talking about, even though I've only been here about 4 years. Do you do collards with that pepper oil stuff..egad I don't understand that lol. Otherwise I think tradition has just been champagne and friends. I try not to call them resolutions anymore, that about guarantees they wont be kept. But rather goals to shoot for :) Like doing group shows haha. |

Hmmm! Well I stopped making resolutions a long time ago and now I just move with the flow and see where"life" takes me. I do stop to reflect on what has transpired during the last 12 months,though and try to imagine what could happen for the new year. I don't eat the traditional foods as much as I once did. Coming from the south,originally (SC on my father's side and NC on my mother's),Blackeye peas,collard greens and some type of pork was a must!! My father would make something called hog head cheese,that I would love to eat.
Now, only if I hang with the family on New Year's Eve do I still eat the traditional stuff.
I do send out (mentally) thoughts of good wishes for the new year to those that I hold dear and even to those I don't know but are in need of something positive in their life.
I have always been more into the spiritual side of the holiday season rather than the material side. I believe not only at year's end or year's beginning but throughout the year,we should take time to remember the things that are really important in life...

Resolutions, much like promises, is something that evades me at the time. I would resolve to be more spontaneous, less worried about things that don't matter and to live my life as I choose. Then reality sets in and these resolutions become whims and wants of things that will never pass. Coming from a very eclectic place(Pittsburgh, PA) the tradition amongst the Germanic folk was that pork and sauerkraut was eaten on the New Year as to assure well being and good luck. Having become a "hillbilly" with my years here in West Virginia , collards and blackeyes was the rural tradition here in the hills...and a little salted pork never was refused. first time i hear about the tradition of eating peas to have more money next year ;D i understood it right? anyway it is very curious to know, i live in completely different country so..
about aims.. yeah i try to put them for myself every new year, that i start every birthday ;) but i dont seem to be very succesful reaching them That makes me feel really dissapointed and depressed many times ;( seems i need to be more strict with myself for reaching my goals

As usual, the New Year will see me witha number of goals/resolutions/aims - call the what you will - and typically only a small percentage have a chance of surviving long, lol.
But - one that I am determined to follow through is to go for the VIP status in here. So, I'd better start getting my page in order - start a blog, get some 'stuff' uploaded ( although I have no 'original' adult content to offer ) and then start the daily bid for the coverted title " I'm A VIP"

I think it's a Southern thing because I don't remember it when I lived in Michigan. As far as resolutions - never have and never will. But if you are to make them, make them attainable. I take that back, my 2009 resolution is to meet you. |

The problem with resolutions is people tend to make them too much to handle. Mine is to get a better job car and new place. Oh and a woman of course, everyone needs to get laid. :) |

I heard of black eyed peas and collard greens before. not sure what type of greens r collards. Did not know the significance of the meal in the south. But I guess different states have different things. I don't think my family has ever had it as a special meal day. We all know what happens to those in most cases. Every day is a new day and new start. Make the best of what you have to work with and positive thinking will do a lot more than resolutions. Snoopy told me about that. :P |

I stop making resolutions many years ago, I can barely make it thru a day without feeling disappointed in myself. I just don't seem to be able accomplish very much anymore, it's the downside of being an adult with ADD. My doctor said that I need to cut out the sweets, coffee, and other pleasures in my life. Sorry for being so negative. |

I don't make resolutions anymore either. I learned a long time ago that they don't work (for me anyway). I would rather do things on my own clock. I quit smoking back in April so that was a big one. I gained 10 pounds after I quit but I have lost 15 in the last month. After having 2 surgeries within 2 months, I am just grateful to have my health. I had a little scare before the last one. Thank goodness I ended up with the best possible outcome and I thank God every day for that.
