Bad Instructors

Lets start by saying that I am a working mother (and a part-time exhibitionist) that is trying to finish my degree (my goal is to be done before my daughter starts in school). SO - with that in mind, the traditional type of college was not the best for me. I have tried on line schools, but I am really a very visual person, so learning on line proved to be a test for me (not to mention, my self discipline is non-existant) So when I chose to go to school I chose one of those colleges where you meet once a week for five weeks, and you get a grade - one class at a time. It is an instense way of learning, but it works for me.
So - luckily, when I get a poor instructor, it is usually for only 5 weeks, and I move on to another. Not really a big deal, as long as I can learn something and get either an A or a B in the class (I am a little competitive - so a C doesn't work for me).
So - I get into this class 2 weeks ago called Research ---- which is really just another word for statistics! I have the first and second class in this series back to back, and is one of the few times I will be having the same instructor two times in a row. Not generally a bad thing - exccept this instructor is horrid! We are all management majors, and statistics is a whole new ball game for most of us, so the terminology, the problems are completely new -- and we have a LOT of questions (as we should, being good students) but the school has put us with someone that tells us not to worry about it if we don't understand something, then says we are responsible for our comprehension of the subject matter (I think we share responsibility there), and has told us more than once that the next class will be even more difficult. MY god!!! I am barely getting what is being 'taught' to me now and you are about the throw me in a class that is HARDER an being taught be THIS MAN???
Not to mention there are issues with his supposed teaching style, but he is abrasive and defensive (not a good combo) and is not interested in other's opinions if they don't agree with his. In my last class with this guy - he managed to piss off at least 3 people in the first 15 minutes of the class, which instigated an e-mail from my teammate to her acedemic advisor. (We have teams there - and I have a great one!) I decided to back up her story and expound on the issues in the classroom - so we will be talking to the Chair of Acedemic Affairs about the instructor - and my team and myself will more than likely be transfered to another class (same class different instructor) So - yay for me, but damn, I feel sorry for the rest of the people in that class room!!
