For the Robert Jordan Fans
8:24AM on August 23, 2008

A Friend of mine from the Charleston area (where Jordan hailed from) sent me an article that states rights to do Wheel of Time series was purchased by Universal Pictures.

The article also mentioned that they tapped the ..... producers, I think .... of the future movies, which will be the same people that creat the graphic novels of the series (which I never knew existed)

There was also mention in there that someone else is finishing his last book based on his notes and tapes.

I am sure some of this is old new - but I was just so excited, I had to share.

Now, I realize that the movie may not even go into production for years and years -- but I am excited that they are headed in that direction.

I have mixed emotions about this. I am a WOT fan and was saddened to realise with Jordan's passing one of the greatest fantasy series ever will end. Looking forward to spring 09 for Last chapter. Eh anyway I digress. Can the same attention to detail and quality cinematography that went into projects such as Lord of the rings be broguht to this? Or is it just another flashy cash cow for the studois? If the latter is the case I would actually see it die with the final books release rather than doing Jordan and his books such a disservice.
