Apple-Nut Coffee Cake
Lasagna Recipe

Apple-Nut Coffee Cake

This is the recipe for my Apple-Nut Coffee Cake I am making in my group show.

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 large apple
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup nuts
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

1) Grease 9x9 pan.  In medium bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2) In large bowl beat sugar and shortening; beat in egg, and vanilla till well mixed.
3) Peel and chop apple.
4) Stir 1/2 flour mixture into sugar mixture; stir in sour cream; stir in rest of flour mixture.
5) Stir in apple: spread in pan.
6) Mix nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle over cake.
7) Bake 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Lasagna Recipe

This is the recipe for the Lasagna I made in my group show today.  This is a base recipe, feel free to make changes to suit your tastes.

Ingredients:

1 box lasagna noodles
1 pound Colby/Monterrey Jack shredded cheese
1 pound Provolone cheese
1 pound Mozzarella cheese
1 15oz pkg Ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1 large jar Ragu Spaghetti sauce
1 pound hamburger

Directions:

1) Cook noodles as directed on box
2) Mix Ricotta and eggs in a bowl
3) Pour thin layer of sauce in bottom of lasagna pan (11x17)
4) Put 3 noodles side by side on top of sauce
5) Spread approx 1/3 of Ricotta mix on noodles
6) Sprinkle 1/3 of Colby cheese on Ricotta
7) Put 3 noodles side by side on top of cheese
8) Put 1/3 of Provolone on top of noodles
9) Put 1/3 of Mozzarella on Provolone
10) Repeat steps 4-9 untill cheese is gone
11) Finish with top layer of noodles
12) Cover noodles with sauce - especially the ruffled edges
13) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
14) Cook Hamburger and drain fat
15) Add rest of sauce and heat
16) Let Lasagna cool at least 10 minutes, cut and serve use hamburger sauce to top.

*Notes:
Can also add Parmesian cheese but use sparingly or will overpower the others
The Hamburger is optional
