I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season (regardless of which one you choose or choose not to celebrate). I love this time of the year because it is so sparkly! lol! Anyways, you will notice my group shows have changed up a bit.. You know I love to mixed things up a bit so we will be having some fun. We will still get an opportunity to chat and play, but we will also be playing games so you can get an opportunity to win prizes! My big prize that I am giving out is access to my official website. They will range from weeks to days and you can build up the passes so they last longer. (Once you get a free pass, you will also notice a link where it will give you an opportunity to buy full membership if you want.)

I also wanted to give a few passes outside of my group show, for those that pay attention to this blog area.

Prize 1: 6 month membership

Send me a rude mail with the answer- What is the name of the 90s strategy computer game which features the main character as a robot that you have to control using your mouse by clicking on controls which are shaped like arrows. The controls feature moves such as left one step, right one step, straight three steps and the robot has to maneuver around objects and collect objects as it progresses. The whole game is set in a castle. There is a secondary side of the game which you can build your own levels. I have been searching for the name of the game for a long time so any help would definitely get a pass!

Prize 2: 1 month membership

You will be given a photo of mine to PhotoShop (or using any other photo editing software), which you will edit. Then you will post your entry on Rude and send me the link. You have until January 1st to get your entries in. If there is more than one entry, I will ask Rude members for a vote on the favorite (not necessarily the best). Send me a rude mail (subject line needs to mention this so I don't think you are spamming me) with your email address so I can send you the photo.

Prize 3: 2 week membership

I will be posting a blog with a quiz. Anyone who answers all the questions correctly will be entered into a drawing. The drawing will take place on Monday, December 28, 2009 during my group show. You do not have to be present to win, but you might want to be there! Lol! If there is only one person who gets it correct, then they will automatically win!

Prize 4: 1 week membership

You will have until Jan 1, 2010 to complete a blog. The topic is Rude 2009. You can discuss anything from your favorite Rude Events of 2009 to members to rules to new fun things to do on rude or something else you come up with. Send me a link to the blog by Jan 2, 2010. Winner will be selected Monday, January 4th, 2010. I am not a grammar teacher or spelling bee. I dont expect you to be. It does not have to be perfect, just write. You never know who will win or what I am looking for (if anything).

Prize 5: 3 day membership

Active Rude Members this one is for you. Complete this quest and you shall be the winner! Everyone can be a winner!
Goal 1: Have a photo on your rude page of the holidays (this can be anything holiday related) whether it be a background image, in your pixes, your bits, your mood or in your reg photo area (it can even be a fav or something you bought from a producers pix).
Goal 2: Post a clitter (must be after December 20, 2009 to count).
Goal 3: Post a thread on the message board (any subject, but it must be started after December 20, 2009).

Last Holiday (2006) Movie Review

This movie was loosely based on the 1950 movie by the same name, meaning don’t expect it to be anything like the original! Georgia Byrd (played by the beautiful Queen Latifah) is a shy, conservative, sales associate who lives her life thinking about all the things that could be, but not doing anything about it. She spends her time clipping coupons to buy food to cook these amazing meals that she never eats. Instead she takes a picture of it, feeds it to her neighbor, and then eats a Lean Cuisine. She was cooking for a sales demonstration at work when the man of her dreams, Sean Williams (played by LL Cool J) a coworker, approached her. During his flirting she hits her head and he carries her to the department store’s doctor office where she finds out she has only a couple of weeks to live. She goes home and cries. She then decides that she is not going to think about the things she never got a chance to do like meeting Emeril Lagassi or eating meals she cooked. She is going to go out and live her life to the fullest. She cashes in all of her bonds and buys a ticket to Czech Republic to a posh Grandhotel Pupp, even arriving by helocopter.

There she buys beautiful clothes, stays in the presidential suite, orders everything off the menu of Cheif Didier (played by Gerard Depardieu), goes base jumping, learns how to snowboard, goes to the spa, goes gambling and many other experiences. She soon becomes the talk of the hotel. She wins over the hotel’s staff with her forthright manner and kindness, with the exception of the cantankerous floor valet, Miss Gunther (played by Susan Kellerman). She meets Matthew Kragen (played by Timothy Hutton), the businessman who owns the store where she worked. Also at the resort are his assistant-slash-mistress Ms. Burns (played by Alicia Witt), a pandering Louisiana senator (played by Giancarlo Esposito), and a prominent congressman (played by Michael Nouri) . Kragen is skeptical about Georgia’s unknown origins, and becomes paranoid that she has come to Karlovy Vary, CZ with the intent of sabotaging an important business deal he is trying to finalize while there. Georgia’s zest for life is contagious to everyone at the hotel except Kragen. Since Georgia has nothing to loose she talks her mind to everyone and tells them exactly what they should be doing to make them a better person.

This is a great romantic comedy, but I find that it is also a bit of a coming of age movie. The whole movie is her trying to find herself while blowing all of her money before she dies. It is a fantastic movie and the acting was wonderful. It was not quite a tear jerker. The movie is a great family film and was good clean fun! The best part of the whole film was Queen Latifah who really brought out the character! If you want a fun kinda sappy movie, put in Last Holiday! I give this movie a 8 out of 10!
