Haven't Been Around

Just wanted to say HI to everyone, since I haven't been as active lately. Alas, the last month or so have been filled with ups and downs with my family. However, I am now able to be on and interact with my fave peeps! LOL.

I guess the biggest news that I want to share is that I will be going back to school in June. I am going back to get my degree in Psychology and hopefully it will lead me to a career that I'll thoroughly love. Although this wasn't my original goal, which was a Law Degree, I find that after the issues I've been dealing with on a personal front that this will be better for me and my family.

I have also been working on some new stories and poetry. Momentarily, I am leaning toward more of a humorous outlook, such as my Apil Mag submission. I'm also working on a darker piece that I'd hoped to gt published and ready to sell here on RUDE, but momentarily it's on the back burner for a another month or so . I've also been working on somenew ideas for photo and vid shoots. Now that it has warmed up, I am hoping to get a couple of shoots done outdoors. Gorgeous areas where I'm living now.....can't wait o see what happens.

Anyway.......hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and looking forward to seeing you all in some shows and/or checking out your pics and vids. Much love!

Tonight Made A Phone Call


Tonight I made a phone call.
One I just could not put off.
It was a very hard thing to do.
I promised to do it no matter what the cost.

I had alot of things to say.
I needed to keep my head clear.
I would only have a few moments,
To carry him through the next year.

I had kept myself busy throughout most of the day.
I tried to stay cheerful as I watched my three kids play.
My mind was filled with worry.
What was I going to say?

The seconds felt like hours.
The hours felt like years.
Nervously I watched the clock.
The time to call drew near.

My palms were all sweaty.
My throat dry as bone.
I slowly dialed the number.
I put my ear up to the phone.

It rang once and rang again.
I prayed dear God let him be in.
I heard someone pick up the line.
I knew it was that brother of mine.

All the words I wanted to say.
They left my head, just flew away.
I had to concentrate and really try.
If I didn't, I knew I'd cry.

Little brother, as soon as I heard your voice.
I could not seem to find my words of choice.
I love you and I miss you.
That was the best that I could do.

I struggled with my fears and emotions.
I promised I wouldn't cry.
I knew it would be hard when it came time to say goodbye.
As soon as I said it tears welled up in my eyes.

Tonight I made a phone call.
One I wish I never had to make.
To my little brother.
He leaves tomorrow at daybreak.

He will join the fight for freedom.
He stands beside the soldiers already there.
In Iraq, on the desert sands.
Little brother, please take care.



I wrote this soon after I found out that my brother was in Iraq. He joined the Marine Corps just after graduation and served our country. I found out he was over seas about a month after I had my first child and called to share the news. Now he is home and is so different than when he left, I almost don't know him anymore.

So to everyone I say this. Remember the men and women that serve their respective countries. They see things that make up our worst nightmares and live with the horror til their last breath. They protect us and love us with their lives, so the least we could do is show our support and love them in return regardless of our personal feelings toward government and such. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!

Alright people, I have asked before, and I'm asking again. Someone please toss out some ideas for new pics and vidz!

So as you can see I have a few suggestions already. However, I am still looking for more! After all, you are tyhe ones that will be watching/ looking at them. LOL!
