Home for the weekend

I rented a car and drove myself home for the weekend. I had to get away from my boss/research leader for a couple days. Just have to make it through 2 more weeks and then no more road trips with the a$$hole. Vincent and I went out last evening(Saturday) and he in fact just left here. I am feeling a lot better after spending some time with him. I'll be posting some more photos early in the coming week. I am enjoying the comments that have been left for me.

 Well, I headed back out on the road on September 8th after having 3 weeks at home. It was fun while it lasted but getting back into the long days of driving and working and staying in hotels was hard. I will be glad when this is over. I miss my home, my friends, and most of all, my own bed. OK, now to what I wanted to write about. Since we were off the road for so long, the boss decided we would stay out through the last week of September. As many of you know, Hurricane Ike came right up the Ohio river valley after striking Texas and though the area I live in received no rain from Ike, we had the worst wind storm in the time that they've been keeping records. Half a million people in my area lost their power on Sunday, September 14 and trees fell onto houses, barns, and cars. I was in Oklahoma at the time and really didn't know anything about what had happened. When I returned to my house on October 2nd, I was surprised to find my friend Vincent there, in my house. He explained about what had gone on and that a tree on the side of my house had fallen onto the house. The worst damage was a broken window but I had a few shingles blown up and the tree ripped some trim of the roof line of the house. Vincent came by on Monday after the storm, found the damage, checked everything out, and then repaired it all himself. He said he didn't see any reason to worry me since there was no major damage. He got the tree and branches off my roof, repaired the shingles and trim, boarded upthe broken window, and cut up the downed tree. He even cleaned up the inside of the house. He took pictures of what the inside looked like and I'll say that must have been some wind. He knew the day I'd be home so he wanted to be there to explain what had happened. I cannot imagine having a better friend that him. He is such a truly fine and caring man. With all that has been and is going on in his life he took the time to do these things for me. I love him as a friend and as a man and I will wait for him forever if I have to. PS: a funny thing happened the day I returned. After hearing the story and surveying the damage and repairs, I ran into town to the grocery store for a few things. Vincent stayed behind at my house while I was gone. I returned to find him with the vacuum cleaner cleaning the floor near the broken window again. I told him that he had never looked sexier to me than he did using that vacuum cleaner. Ladies, a man who cleans is as sexy as it gets.  Am I right or not?

Hello again,
I just wanted to explain about my new Profile photo. The photo with blonde hair was taken early this year, in January or February, after I had lightened my hair drastically. Keeping it that light was a lot of work so I am back to my original/natural color(although I did give it a little help on the ends so that I didn't have to cut it shorter) of reddish brown.  

Posted a video of Vincent I took yesterday. I wish I had the look on his face when he peeked out of the shower curtain and saw the camera, but as you can see he warmed up to the video camera after I told him what I had planned.

Going to get 3 weeks off the road, yeah!

My boss/research partner has decide we won't go back out on the road until the week after Labor day week. Since the beginning of April i have only had one full week at home so this is going to be like a vacation. We will spend the time organizing and analyzing our research data and planning out the rest of the research season thru the end of October. We left a day early to head home last week because he bought a horse while we were out and wanted to get it back home and the truth is we aren't going back out because he wants to spend some time with his new horse as well. Doesn't matter as I benefit too. I'll get to see Vincent more often, sleep in my own bed, get some other things done, and clean up my house(it really needs it).

Vincent and I took some photos Saturday evening and we may get some of them posted this week, or maybe we'll get to take some more. It's more fun than i thought it would be i must admit. I took some of him which he was quick to delete, funny to see the shoe on the other foot isn't it.

Finally posted some photos

Well, after several requests, I finally posted some photos of myself yesterday. First of all I want every one to know that I have no intention of becoming a producer or uploading photos of myself on a regular basis. I had several requests for me to upload something and about 3 weeks ago a "very good" friend helped me take a few few photos and edit some which I already had. I kept putting off uploading them, but he kept after me, and I finally did it. I have been having second thoughts all day about having done it, but they are there for now. I only joined Rude to see what he had posted but I have found it fun looking around and I am able to keep up with my "Buddy" while I am out of town. I just want you to understand that I am not going to post a lot, maybe occasionally though, guess I'll wait to see how my photos are viewed and what kind of comments I get. 

I am a little over halfway home and should make it home by 1 or 2 PM Saturday. I'm looking for ward to seeing my friend, I've been away for 3 weeks and I've missed him. He wants to take more photos and a video but we'll see about the photos and he can forget about the video, I'm not ready to do that yet if I ever will be.
