Transgender rules on driver's licenses changed

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is changing its policy on how transgender people identify themselves on driver's licenses. The department and Equality Pennsylvania announced a settlement Wednesday that allows people to change the gender on their licenses if they are living full-time in their new gender and it can be verified by a licensed medical or psychological caregiver.
The previous policy only allowed changes in gender for drivers who could prove they had sexual reassignment surgery. PennDot said about half the states already have adopted a similar policy. The policy takes effect immediately.

So now that this is being done, how do  feel about these changes?

Why would we even dignify this "shock tactic" meant to undermine our candidate by passing it through the email channels from email-to-email to be read and then subliminally digested?  This is an attempt to destroy something that is bigger than Obama and bigger than any of us as people, primarily men of color (especially African Americans). 
 
It will be a proud and victorious day when we as a people realize that the success of our community lies in unity!  It doesn't lie in small financial gain or in the rise and/or fall of the individual.  This country is run on POWER.... and political power when matched with money and a unified front is the strongest power there is. 
 
Take a lesson from the Jewish community.  The needs of the many out weigh the desires of the individual.  Obama should have our unwavering support because he looks like you and though that may sound simplistic and even naive to some, it is more naive to believe that there aren't hundreds of thousands who will not support him for the very reason that he does not look like them. 
 
As a people we have been conditioned to save ourselves at the cost of our community.  We believe in the preservation of me and mine and we revel in the idea of standing apart from the rest and we are still waiting for the approval of a Caucasian society that does not value us and therein lies the fist that holds us down and keeps us back.  Look around, open your eyes, READ SOMETHING OF SUBSTANCE (learn history and pay attention to the news), things are not getting better for us, they are getting worse and we are our own worst enemy!  "The Man" hardly needs to lift a finger when we are killing each other, when we destroy our own neighborhoods, don't support our children and quit on our own educations.  WAKE UP!!!  WAKE UP PLEASE!!!
 
Take the extra five blocks to support a Black owned business.  And yea that may come with a side of attitude, but I'd rather get attitude from my own than slowly have money sucked from my community by outsiders.  Let's be realistic, how many smiles do you get and how great is costumer service anywhere these days????  There is always an excuse and always a "logical reason" why we don't support our own, always away to justify our self-hatred and unraveling families and community.  The time for justification is over!  The time for finger pointing is long passed.  If you can't see that we are re-enslaving ourselves, if you can't see that we are being fooled and fooling ourselves, if you can't see that we are slowly, NO not-so-slowly walking backwards as a community, than I feel we may truly be lost.
 
He is a Black man and as such deserves our consideration at very least and at our best, he deserves our full support.  Understand that we are the only people in the world that questions our own in the support of others or that do not seem to value US as much as we values outside influences and trappings. 
 
There is an old lawyers trick that plays on the subconscious mind.  What you hear or read or see is digested into the mind and all the "objections" and all the efforts to disprove a "shock tactic" are never quite as poignant as the "shock tactic" itself.  You still heard it, read it or saw it and it becomes a part of you subconscious and thus a part of you.  We are stronger than that, better than that and braver than that and we for the first time in a long time have the opportunity to send the message to the world, we are one and we do have value and our political and economic power speaks to more than just the consumption of products that make us look successful. 
 
The strength of a leader comes from the faith and support of those that follow him.  Martin Luther King was a great man because he had a great following.  Understand that I take nothing away from the dynamic way he spoke and the ability he had to rally the community...but as his support grew so did his power to be dynamic!!!!  GET BEHIND A MAN AND HE CAN RULE THE WORLD!!!
 
Understand that it is time to again take ownership of our community, our children and our destiny.  It is time to again feel proud, not as individuals, but as a people.  Know that the struggle ain't over...don't ever be fooled.  Now you can take the blue pill and wake up comfortably in your bed believing the world and our community is OK...or you can take the red pill and see what's on the other side of the rabbit hole.  WE ARE BEING FOOLED AND WE ARE BECOMING CONTENT WITH SCARPS AGAIN...We are a part of the first generations to do worse than their parents.  A few successes mean nothing if we fall and fail as a people!  TRASH THIS SHIT AND REMEMBER WHAT THE REAL ISSUES ARE...Remember what happened the last time we took our responsibility lightly...remember the last twenty years, especially the last 10 and ask yourself...WHO DO I WANT TO SEE REFLECTED IN MY COUNTRY'S LEADERSHIP...WHAT DO I WANT THE FACE OF MY COUNTRY TO BE...WHAT WOULD THEY DO TO STOP ME (AND IN TURN WHAT MUST I DO TO STOP THEM)...

France to Declassify Transsexuality as a Mental Illness

On the day before the International Day Against Homophobia, French Minister of Health Roselyne Bachelot wanted to send a "strong signal" to the world about homophobia and, in particular, transsexuality. Mme. Bachelot announced today that French health services will no longer classify transsexuality as a mental illness. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health clarified the move by saying that there will remain a medical classification for transsexuality because transsexual individuals still require specialized medical care. Trans groups across the nation welcomed the move and hope that the World Health Organization (WHO) will follow France's lead. In 1996, the WHO listed transsexualism in the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD 10) as a "disorder of sexual identity." The Collective Against Homophobia hailed the the French government's move today as a milestone for transgender people, who "will no longer be stigmatized and considered by France as the mentally ill." However, some groups remain cautious, saying that symbolic gestures need to be followed by deliberate actions, specifically easing the transition process from the civil and legal perspectives. The fight against transphobia is the theme of this year's International Day Against Homophobia, which takes place annually on May 17. Vive la France!

If Sen. Barack Obama wins the Democratic nomination for president and goes on to win the White House, he would be the seventh, not the first black man to occupy the oval office, according to three black historians whose work to uncover the racial backgrounds of U.S. presidents has been largely ignored until now.
Black male historians have written extensively that Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Dwight Eisenhower had black ancestors. These historians are Joel A. Rodgers, Dr. Leroy Vaughn, and Dr. Auset Bakhufu.
Black historians, however, were not the first to write about the five presidents' racially mixed families. White historians and political opponents also wrote about the men's black ancestors, but the books were either destroyed, went out of print or are hard to find.
A common theme associated with the earlier black presidents is that they all passed for white, sometimes destroying family photographs and letters, to hide their racial backgrounds.
Sen. Obama cannot obviously pass for white because of his dark skin color. Obama makes it clear he is the son of a Kenyan economist and white female anthropologist.
Interracial relationships between black women and white men explain the racial backgrounds of some of the presidents, but not all.
Sexual relationships between black men and white women have produced offspring. Andrew Jackson, the nation's seventh's president, was the son of a black man and an Irish woman, according to historians.
Interracial relationships between black men and Native American women also produced racially mixed offspring.
Rodgers, who died in 1966, wrote the book The Five Black Presidents, and Dr. Vaughn devotes a chapter to the five black presidents in his Black People and Their Place in World History. Rogers and Vaughn agree Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Harding and Coolidge had black ancestors.
Dr. Auset Bakhufu, author of The Six Black Presidents' Black Blood: White Masks includes Eisenhower.
Despite author Toni Morrison's 1998 New Yorker magazine article that claims Bill Clinton is the nation's first black president because of his womanizing and frequenting McDonald's restaurants, Clinton is not listed.

attended a college for fugitive slaves.


The strongest case for a president with black ancestry is Harding, the 29th president who served in office from 1921 to 1923.
White historians claim Harding was of English and Dutch ancestry, but in truth both his parents were black. Harding's black ancestors escaped from the South to the North via the Underground Railroad, according to the book Warren G. Harding, U.S. President 29: Death By Blackness, by Marsha Stewart, a black woman, who says she is a Harding descendent.
Historians bolster Harding's black ancestral background by noting where he attended college.
Harding graduated from Iberia College, a school in Iberia, Ohio, founded to educate fugitive slaves, according to historians. Iberia College has been renamed Ohio Central College. When Republicans asked Harding to deny his "Negro" Harding said, "How should I know whether or not one of my ancestors might have jumped the fence."
William Chancellor, a white professor of economics at Wooster College in Ohio, wrote about Harding's black ancestry in the 1923 book Warren Gamaliel Harding: President of the United States.
Chancellor called Harding "our first Negro president," and he wrote that Warren, his brother and sisters were reared and treated like "colored people." He also accused Harding of using makeup to lighten his facial complexion.
As soon as Harry M. Daugherty, Harding's attorney general, learned of the book, justice department officials seized all of the copies. Stewart says only three copies now exist. The New York Public Library owns a copy; the Princeton University Library owns one as does the library of the Ohio Historical Society, she adds.
Jackson was the nation's seventh president. He served from 1829 to 1837. Dr. Vaughn cites an article published in the Virginia Magazine of History that Jackson's oldest brother was sold into slavery.
Another account of Jackson's brother being sold into slavery is published in the 1960 book Ordeal of the Presidency by David Coyle.
Thomas Jefferson, the nation's third president, who served from 1801 to 1809, was the son of an Indian woman and a mulatto father, according to the 1867 book The Johnny Cake Papers, by Thomas Hazard.
Another author Samuel Sloan wrote that Jefferson destroyed all of the papers, portraits and personal effects of his mother, Jane Randolph Jefferson, when she died on March 31, 1776. He even wrote letters to everyone who had received a letter from his mother to ask that they return them, Sloan writes in his book The Slave Children of Thomas Jefferson.
Abraham Lincoln, the nation's 16th president, was the illegitimate son of an African man, Rodgers quotes Nancy Hanks Lincoln, Lincoln's mother, as saying. Abraham Lincoln was very dark skinned and had coarse hair, Rodgers writes.
Historians maintain that Thomas Lincoln was Abraham Lincoln's father, but William H. Herndon, Lincoln's law partner, disputes that assumption.
After Lincoln's assassination in 1865, Herndon contacted everyone who knew Lincoln and documented his life. According to the book, The Hidden Lincoln, From The Letters And Papers Of William H. Herndon, Herndon argued that Thomas Lincoln could not have been Abraham Lincoln's father because Thomas Lincoln was sterile as a result of childhood mumps.
The Hidden Lincoln was published in 1938 by Emanuel Hertz, who compiled the writings.
Calvin Coolidge, the nation's 30th president, admitted that his mother, Victoria Josephine Moor Coolidge, was dark because she was of mixed Indian ancestry. Coolidge was a native of Plymouth, Windsor County, Vermont. By the 1800, New England Indians were not pure because so many of them intermarried with blacks, says Dr. Bakhufu.
Further, he adds, Coolidge's mother's maiden name was "Moor," and the name "Moor" was given to all black people in Europe as Negro had been given to all black people in the United States.
Dr. Bakhufu includes on his list of presidents with black ancestry, Dwight D. Eisenhower, the nation's 34th president. President Eisenhower's mother, Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower, was rumored to have black ancestry.

DEAR BLOG,

Well I been up all nite and havent had no sleep yet, but u know ya girl is a machine at times.  I Just cant wait till this medical sit in, its been hard to do many things on any level when ur in pain with tooth problems. Dont you hate that, cuz now days ur nothing without a smile.  Mar called me last nite and wanted to file amoura on his taxes, at first I was lil hesitited but now Im cool with it. After talking too BAD AZZ BODY, Im ready to do some surg and make a few changes and I decide to go to MEXICO with her to make this happen. So I need to come up with $2500 no later then March 31 and its a go. Well so far when Mar file his taxes thats a quick 800 for me since he filing my kid. Now all I need to do is stack and stay focus on my goal. Im hoping this PASSPORT situation wont hold me up and cause drama cuz its so past due my turn for something good to happen to me. SInce 07 been a crazy year and all I did was take care of others, isnt it bout time someone took care of me. I mean I didnt do jack for any holiday & in OCT, I wanted to do something special for my birthday and you see that didnt go right. I was asleep on my BDAY despress and thinking of DEATH! I cant go out like this year without making these changes. HELL I need and want this to work and go right, cuz I took care all that with my babymother dying and taking care of her and her kids, I def feel I totally should be able to make this happen.
